Our Team
REACH is comprised of a dedicated team of professionals from a range of countries throughout the Americas with diverse expertise and experience across countries and topical areas. This includes human and labor rights, business and human rights, migration, women’s empowerment, violence prevention, human trafficking, and many other vital issues.
REACH’s founder and director was born and raised in Guatemala and has lived in the United States, Mexico, and Central and South America. She is a researcher, educator, and advocate with ample experience in desk and field research, development and implementation of educational and women’s empowerment projects, social compliance auditing, community-led development, advocacy, and organizational management. She has directed and implemented research, trainings, audits and projects on labor rights in Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and the United States.
Her research covers various human rights and labor rights issues, including forced labor, human trafficking, recruitment practices, child labor, migration, and societal, sexual, and domestic violence. She has a graduate certificate on child labor, forced labor and human trafficking; a master’s degree in Project Design, Management and Administration from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain; and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Informatics from the Francisco Marroquín University in Guatemala.
